On Monday October 30 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. in 501 Cathedral of Learning, there will be a book celebration for Robin Chapdelaine (history department, Duquesne), author of The Persistence of Slavery: An Economic History of Child Trafficking in Nigeria, with responses by the series editor Laura Lovett and press editor Matt Becker. The event is recommended to folks interested in academic publishing as well as the economics of childhood, global labor conditions, and historical research methods (including oral interviews and archival research). Dr. Chapdelaine's book will be available for purchase.
Matt Becker will hold office hours from 3:30-4:30 in 517C of the Cathedral for faculty and graduate students who would like to discuss publishing a manuscript with UMass.
